Q: How does the job thing work?

Using our network of connections within our three congregations and our Jobs Committee, we seek to match you with a job placement in the Nashville area that falls within one of your areas of interest. In the application, you'll tell us about the career areas that interest you most. Once applicants are accepted, we’ll begin searching for a placement.  We will do our best to arrange a position that fits your areas of interest, but we do not guarantee you'll be placed in-field. What we do guarantee is that you'll be placed at a company that "gets" the Fellows Program and is eager to develop life-long, valuable professional skills in you. We encourage you to also look for job openings in your field in Nashville, knowing that you may have family and friends in Nashville who can also be a resource to you in this way.  Fellows should expect to make somewhere between $11,000 and $14,000 over the course of their nine-month job.

Q: What do you mean by “seminary classes”?

Each Monday throughout the year the Fellows will be taught by Scotty Smith and multiple guest lecturers for a graduate-level class. You'll be covering topics like biblical theology, theology of culture, and how Christians can offer to God their hearts, minds, souls, and strength for God's glory and the building up of His Kingdom. You will have reading assignments and projects, and you'll be offered the opportunity to sit under great teachers who are excited to voluntarily invest in you!

Q: Where will I live?

Each Fellow will be matched with a family from their assigned home congregation who will host them for the duration of the program. Families will be chosen based on what church coordinators believe would be a good fit utilizing information provided by host families on personality, preference, and other factors.

Q: How does church placement work?

We will ask a few church-related questions of you through the application and interview process, wanting to gain a sense of who you are as we prayerfully consider both the Fellow's and churches' sense of the best placement for each Fellow.

Q: How did the Nashville Fellows Program get started?

Bo and Sarah Bartholomew gathered a group of folks in Nashville who all had some experience with the model of the Fellows program. Together we developed a vision for a program in our city that would build relationships between churches that hold common core beliefs but are part of different denominations.

The original Fellows Program was begun by The Falls Church in Falls Church, Virginia, and there are now more than 24 Fellows programs hosted by churches around the country. The Fellows Initiative is the umbrella organization that brings these programs together and helps churches launch new programs. You can learn more about other programs at the Fellows Initiative website link below.
