Frequently Asked Questions

Q. When should I apply?

A. We strongly encourage prospective fellows to apply before the early application deadline, November 30th. We receive a lot of applications and our program fills up quickly.

Q. How does the Nashville Fellows Program help me propel my career?

A. Using our extensive network of Nashville connections, we match you with a job placement in the Nashville area that falls within one of your areas of interest. Throughout the application process, you'll tell us about the career areas that interest you most. Once applicants are accepted, we’ll begin searching for a placement.  We will do our best to arrange a position that fits your areas of interest, but we do not guarantee you'll be placed in-field. What we do guarantee is that you'll be placed at a company that "gets” the Fellows Program and is eager to develop life-long, valuable professional skills in you. We encourage you to also look for job openings in your field in Nashville, knowing that you may have family and friends in Nashville who can also be a resource to you in this way.

Q. Where will I live?

A. Each Fellow will be matched with a family from their assigned home congregation who will host them for the duration of the program. Families will be chosen based on what church coordinators believe would be a good fit utilizing information provided by host families on personality, preference, and other factors.

Q. How does church placement work?

A. We will ask a few church-related questions of you through the application and interview process, wanting to gain a sense of who you are as we prayerfully consider both the Fellow's and churches' sense of the best placement for each Fellow.

Q. What is seminary study like?

A. Each Monday throughout the year the Fellows will be taught by Scotty Smith and multiple guest lecturers for graduate-level classes. You'll be covering topics like biblical theology, theology of culture, and how Christians can offer to God their hearts, minds, souls, and strength for God's glory and the building up of His Kingdom. You will have reading assignments and projects, and you'll be offered the opportunity to sit under great teachers who are excited to voluntarily invest in you!

Q. How much does your program cost to join?

A. The cost of the Nashville Fellows is $7,500. We encourage you to allow your family, friends, home church, and mentors to invest in you in a partnership of prayer and financial support. If, upon acceptance, you would like advice on how best to fundraise for your Fellows tuition, please let us know. Upon acceptance to the program, a $500 deposit is required to secure your place. The remaining program fee balance of $7,000 may be paid throughout the program via one of several payment plans.

The career path... The relationship... My purpose... It was time that I stopped trying to get out; it was time to dive into life, into family, into work, into theology, into a brand new city. Little did I know that I would be given a true community whose love, challenge and support I could not escape.
